Management


Monique Farantzos is the co-founder and CEO of doubleTwist. Prior to doubleTwist, she was the Managing Director of DoubleTwist Ventures, a DRM interoperability company. She has also been a consultant for Intellectual Ventures and a Director at the Miller Porter Group, a consulting firm focused on the Life Sciences and Biotechnology industries. Monique holds an MS in Applied Science with empahsis on Bioengineering from UC Davis and worked as a Physicist at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

Jon Lech Johansen is doubleTwist's co-founder/CTO and responsible for all technology and architecture decisions. His background is in digital media interoperability, having worked on the reverse engineering of proprietary systems such as DVD CSS that prevent consumers from enjoying media they've legally acquired. Prior to co-founding doubleTwist Jon worked for DoubleTwist Ventures and MP3Tunes, a digital music startup in San Diego. He is a self-taught software engineer whose passion is making technology accessible to ordinary users through polished and intuitive user interfaces. Jon received the EFF Pioneer Award in 2002 and was profiled on the front page of the Wall Street Journal at the age of 21.

Goetz Weber is doubleTwist's COO and responsible for strategic planning, and day to day business operations. Prior to doubleTwist, Goetz was the co-founder and CEO of inDplay.com – a b2b multiplatform video content marketplace, angel funded by Eric Schmidt, William Hearst III and Shai Agassi. inDplay was sold to Ascent Media in February 2008. Prior to inDplay, Goetz held senior positions in strategic business development, product development, and innovation management at SAP AG in Germany and at SAP Labs in Palo Alto. He has worked on a number of leading SAP initiatives, including business strategy for the SAP-Microsoft collaboration, and several new composite application product launches spanning the financial services and manufacturing industries. He holds a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics, an MBA, and has authored physics publications and patents.

Alex Zubillaga is an angel investor and the former Head of Digital Strategy at Warner Music. He was a Managing Director and co-founder of Lexa Partners, a venture capital firm which was part of the investor group that purchased Warner from Time Warner Inc in 2004.

Michael Ovitz is a private investor and he served at executive roles at companies such as Creative Artists Agency and The Walt Disney Company.
